Jennifer D. Austin a 2005 graduate of New Mexico Tech with a bachelor's degree in biology, passed away in April 2008. She was living in Chandler, AZ.
Richard Warner Baxter, Jr.
Richard W. Baxter, Jr.
, passed away on Feb. 3, 2007. after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Big Spring, Texas to Georgia and Richard W. Baxter Sr. on March 1, 1954.

Rich grew up in Socorro, New Mexico, where he attended New Mexico Tech, and earned three degrees: a bachelor's degree in math in 1977, a bachelor's in computer science in 1981, and a master's in computer science in 1985.

He moved to San Jose in 1987 and has worked for Lockheed Martin since 1988. He married his soul mate, Laurie, on April 24, 2002 in San Diego, California.

Rich was a well loved man and will be missed forever. He had a beautiful heart, a sharp wit and loved to travel the world. He was a beloved husband to Laurie, a loving father to Karolyn, a devoted brother to Laura and Randy and grandfather to Mikayla. Rich was always a wonderful "Daddy" to Bangles.
James H. Brown

James H. Brown, Jr. passed away on July 8, 2008. Brown attended New Mexico Tech during the late 1990s and early 2000s, loved Socorro, and decided to stay. His many friends remember him as a loving, giving, generous person.

James was born on Sept. 28, 1959, in Riverside, Calif. His family moved to Bloomfield, N.M., in 1969, where James grew up and attended high school, graduating in 1978. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and an honorably discharged New Mexico National Guardsman. He graduated from San Juan College before attending New Mexico Tech.

Cecil V. Coffey a 1942 graduate of New Mexico School of Mines in geological engineering, passed away on Dec. 28, 2007, in Tucson, Ariz. He was 90.
