Tech Names Four Finalists for Academic V.P.

SOCORRO, N.M. April 21, 2014 – New Mexico Tech has narrowed the search to four finalists for the vacant Vice President of Academic Affairs position.

The candidates will be interviewed on the following dates (click on each name to view the candidates' resumes):

·         Dr. Arup Maji on April 24

·         Dr. Warren Ostergren on April 25

·         Dr. Don Roth on May 1

·         Dr. Alexander Domijan Jr. on May 2

Each candidate will meet with the Council of Chairs in the morning, which will include a 10-minute presentation, and a question and answer session. Each candidate will also then interview with Tech President Dr. Daniel H. Lopez. After lunch with administrators, everyone is welcome to the receptions for each candidate at 2 p.m. at Macey Center (exception on May 1, Fidel Ballroom will be used).

Dr. Arup Maji is a professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of New Mexico. He earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Mechanics from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from UNM.

Dr. Warren Ostergren is an associate professor of mechanical engineering and the chair of the department at New Mexico Tech. He earned his Ph.D. in mechanics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Dr. Don Roth is a professor of molecular biology and Deputy Director for Academics at the School of Energy Resources at the University of Wyoming. He earned his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in plant physiology and pathology.

Dr. Alexander Domijan Jr. is a professor of electrical engineering and director of the Power Center for Utility Explorations at the University of Buffalo. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
