High-Tech Entrepreneur Giving Two Talks

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. September 20, 2012 – Noted businessman, investor and author Dr. Milton Chang (http://miltonchang.com) is giving a free talk about entrepreneurship on Thursday, Sept. 27, at the WESST Enterprise Center.


Milton Chang will speak in Socorro and Albuquerque as part of the Verge Fund Speaker Series.


Chang was president and CEO of Newport Corp. and New Focus Inc, which he took public. As an angel investor, he served on the boards of 11 companies that either went public or were acquired. Today he writes a monthly business/management column for the trade publication Laser Focus World, sits on the boards of several startup companies, and advises entrepreneurs.

This special event is one installment of the Verge Fund Speaker Series. Chang’s free talk will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the WESST Enterprise Center, 609 Broadway, Albuquerque. He will present another talk in Socorro at 11 a.m. Friday, September 28, in MSEC 105.

Chang will be discussing his experiences and recommendations regarding entrepreneurship. The public is welcome to attend this free talk. Copies of Dr Chang’s book, Toward Entrepreneurship: Establishing a Successful Technology Business will be available for purchase for $25. After his talk, Chang will field questions from the audience.

The Verge Fund Speaker Series is an ongoing partnership between the New Mexico Tech Department of Management and the Verge Fund (http://www.vergefund.com/). The speaker series designed to provide New Mexico Tech students and faculty with the opportunity to meet and interact with individuals and organizations involved in the technology commercialization process. Management professor Dr. Peter Anselmo said the speaker series is usually held in Socorro, but he wanted to make Chang’s talk available to a wider business audience.
